105.0 Ezzzy FM
Easy listening and lounge station hosted by Stevie J. After 50% completion Ultor buys the station and replaces it with The World 105.0.
Overview
105.0 Ezzzy FM is Saints Row 2's easy listening station. The playlist sits in the lounge / production-music end of the easy listening genre, with much of the catalogue licensed through Sonoton, Bruton and similar production-library labels. Track titles are descriptive (Bachelor Samba, Tooba Boogie, Dolce Vita) and the music is intended as wallpaper rather than chart fare.
DJ Stevie J
Stevie J hosts the station and plays a laid-back, perpetually cheerful character who openly adores the music. He whistles Whistle Happy on his way home from work, claims that Tooba Boogie was performed at his high school talent show, and mentions that his mother was "quite impressed". Other segments revolve around him still living with his mother, being single, and implying a one-off fling with Shaundi who refuses to call him back.
The World 105.0
After 50% game completion Ultor buys Ezzzy outright and rebrands it 105.0 The World, with a completely different lineup of world music and Irish Celtic tracks. Stevie J stays on as DJ but his cheerful persona collapses: his patter becomes openly depressed, sarcastic and bitter, and he regularly encourages listeners to boycott the station.
In the game data Ezzzy and The World are stored as two separate stations. A car saved with the radio set to Ezzzy keeps Ezzzy after the buyout. Once the radio is changed off Ezzzy, the original variant is no longer accessible on that vehicle.
Tracklist
There are 24 tracks on the Ezzzy bank, all production-library or lounge imports. Common credits include Walt Rockman, Sammy Burdson, Gerhard Narholz, Jean-Jacques Perrey and Otto Sieben.
Several Ezzzy tracks bleed into other parts of the game world. Bachelor Samba, Tchoupa Twist, Marvellous Singers (Original Version) and Stereo Cha Cha play in the background of the Image as Designed clothing store. John Cacavas's Dancing on the Avenue plays on the Emergency Services and Fire Department answering machine messages.
