102.4 Klassic FM

Overview

102.4 Klassic FM is Saints Row 2's classical station. The playlist is a curated greatest-hits selection of public-domain orchestral and operatic standards covering Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi, Wagner, Tchaikovsky and Handel. Because all the music is public domain, this is the only SR2 station that isn't bound by licensing constraints.

DJ Francine Favre

Francine Favre hosts the station with a cheerful, deadpan delivery that pairs oddly with the highbrow material. Her station IDs are short and dry:

> "Klassic 102.4. We got beat up in school too!"

> "Klassic 102.4. Bach the night away!"

She occasionally drops in self-aware tangents:

> "I've actually been working on an interpretive dance for this piece. It's > becoming quite something."

After playing Ride of the Valkyries she sometimes follows up with a Robert Duvall callback:

She also dedicates Handel's Music for the Royal Fireworks to Troy Bradshaw on rotation.

Highlights include Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty Waltz and Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries.

The recordings used are not credited per-performance in the data files. AcoustID returns weak matches on classical music in general because of the sheer number of competing performances, so the per-track metadata stays at composer level.

Trivia

The DJ name is a play on Frank Favre, an audio designer credited on the game.
